Jobs vs. visits — what's the difference?
Why the calendar shows visits, and when a job needs more than one.
A job is the piece of work you agreed to do. A visit is one occasion when someone actually turns up to do it.
Most small jobs are one job with one visit. But a repair that needs a part ordered is one job with two visits; a three-day install is one job with three. Keeping them separate is what lets the calendar stay accurate without fragmenting the work into unrelated records.
Why it matters for billing: an invoice created from a job starts pre-filled with that job's line items. If the job has several visits and you want to bill for just one of them, use Import from Visit on the invoice to pull that visit's own items instead. Imported lines carry the visit's service date, and the invoice grows a Date column automatically when any line has one.
Recurring work is scheduled at the job level — set a frequency and visits are generated on that cadence.
