Recurring invoices

Auto-generate and auto-send on a cycle — and why that isn't auto-pay.

Mark an invoice recurring (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) and each cycle's invoice is generated automatically.

By default it's hands-off: the invoice is emailed to the customer the moment it's generated — same template, same Pay Now button, no manual send. If the customer has no email on file that cycle is left as a draft rather than silently vanishing.

Turn on "Review each invoice before it sends" and each cycle stops at Draft instead. You get a notification, can adjust a line or fix a price, and send it yourself.

A series can be paused without losing its schedule, frequency, line items, or terms — generation just stops until you unpause.

This is recurring invoicing, not recurring auto-pay. By default the customer still has to click and complete checkout each cycle. There is an optional auto-charge setting for saved cards (Settings → Automations, off by default) — but it only applies to customers who explicitly ticked "save this card for automatic future payments" on an earlier invoice in that same series, and any failure falls back to emailing them to pay manually.
